Arts
- Farmville Community Arts Council
The Mission of the Farmville Community Arts Council, Inc. is to establish and maintain an awareness and an appreciation of cultural arts in the community of Farmville through the promotion and encouragement of existing cultural and educational organizations, to assist in the establishment of activities where none exist, and to coordinate cultural and educational activities in the community of Farmville to avoid overlapping and duplication of efforts.
Astronomy
- Carolina Skies Astronomy Club
Carolina Skies Astronomy Club was formed to suppport Goose Creek State Park’s Astronomy In The Park program. CSAC provides speakers for the event held from September thru April in the Environmental Educational and Visitor Center inside the park, east of Washington NC. Following the program, club members conduct a tour of the night sky outside for the public. In addition to assisting with Astronomy In The Park, club members also perform astronomy outreach programs for youth and civic groups. In 2005 the club obtained membership in the Night Sky Network, a public outreach program sponsored by Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.
