April 9, 2008 8:30 am April is the time of the year for festivals, festivals, and more festivals around Greenville and Pitt County. If you want to get out and enjoy the warm weather that is sure to be on its way this month, a great excuse would be the Shad Festival in Grifton, NC.
It is the oldest festival in Pitt County and the 2nd oldest in Eastern North Carolina. This festival takes pride in all the volunteer work to make it a very successful festival. It relies solely on volunteers and has no paid employees.
