Greenville Smoke From Wildfires

Greenville NC Smoke ECULive Video Webcam and Chat from Greenville, NC

The smoke has taken over Greenville yesterday and this morning so far. It moved in quickly yesterday afternoon as the winds shifted and started blowing the smoke right this direction. I have never seen something like this before!

Yesterday, visibilities in Greenville dropped to around a mile and half while this morning they have been around two miles. The smoke is even being reported all the way over to Raleigh and Chapel Hill.

Dense smoke advisories are in effect for much of Eastern North Carolina which has been extended until 5 p.m. this afternoon. Although, we still have the possibility of seeing smoke through Friday!

Staying inside in air condition is the best suggestion! As soon as you walk outside, you can smell the nasty wood burning smoke.

Has the smoke in Greenville cancelled any of your outdoor activities? What are you doing to prevent from breathing it?

Here is a map that was updated Wednesday of the Hyde Wildfire. (You need Acrobat Reader to view – PDF File)

I don't know if I can hang living in this campfire any longer.
