The big news around Greenville the past few days has been the downtown Greenville Tobacco Warehouse. It went up in flames last week later in the afternoon and as of yesterday it was still smoldering.
Now, the big discussion around town has been – What do you want seen done with the Tobacco Warehouse?
There has been plans being talked about it being renovated to preserve the historical building and help revitalize downtown Greenville.
Let’s hear what you the community wants for the Tobacco Warehouse. Do you want it preserved now or something new built to help revitalize the area?

I would love to see the site bulldozed down now and a new outside shopping mall be built in the same area to help the downtown. Or maybe something to help the arts of downtown Greenville.
Bulldoze it! Huge crack in the smokestack..the structure can’t be good to keep it around…its also a soar eye to the downtown!
Remove it all. Open something for the kids. A kids museum or something really upscale and fun for the kids. We do not need any more things dealing with ECU, sports, resturants and the like. Make a fun, educational place for the kids. Something better than that waste of space River Park North.
In my opinion, I think everything down there needs to be flattened. That side of downtown needs a lot of help.
I believe that this thing needs to be removed. In it’s place should be something for children of all ages as well as something children with special needs can participate in. There is a lack of places and activities that children with special needs can do in this community.
I think it should be removed as well some of the other downtown buildings. As a designer, I feel that some of the historic buildings could revitalized for centers for youth such as outdoor fun park or skating rink and skate board rink, a couple of upscale resturants for adults, and a shopping outlet for the college students. We need something to boost the job market here!!!
