Greenville Relay for Life Riley\'s Army

This past weekend on April 25 and 26 was Pitt County’s Relay for Life. This wonderful cause brought people of all ages to South Central High School to raise money to help fight cancer.

To kick off the event, there was a cancer survivors walk (Pictured Above). The leader of the walk was Riley. She was the main speaker of the night along with her parents. They have created a new nonprofit organization to support children with cancer along with their families. This new organization is called Riley’s Army.

Humane Society of Eastern Carolina Canine CrawlThe Eastern North Carolina Humane Society will be holding its eight annual Canine Crawl at the Town Common in Greenville this Saturday, May 3, 2008.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the event will end sometime around 1:30 p.m. There is no registration fee but owners are asked to obtain pledges from family and friends for the registration. A minimum of $25 is asked to register your dog and your dog will receive a goodie bag! The extra pledge money collected will support the homeless animals at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina throughout the year.
